Description

This delightful antique book (144 years old!)  is from the “Weber’s Illustrierte Katechismen” series. Written in German, its title translates as Catechism of Musical Instruments. It was authored by Franz Ludwig SCHUBERT (1804-1868) and published in 1882 by J. J. Weber in Leipzig.

It’s a sort of small treatise on instrumentation. It aims to explain the construction, range and playing technique of orchestral instruments, sometimes with really nice illustrations.

This copy is even dated 1888 and stamped, signed with the name of a previous owner – Friedrich Strobl… teacher! It is in good condition – see photos.
