Description
Full Boehm-system B-flat clarinet – RAMPONE & CAZZANI
This full-Boehm system clarinet was made by Rampone & Cazzani in Milan, Italy, some time in the 1920s. On the death of the famous woodwind instrument maker Agostino RAMPONE (1843-1897), his son Egidio (1872-1937) went into partnership with Battista CAZZANI (1846-1920), a watchmaker and brass instrument manufacturer and married Cazzani’s daughter. When Cazzani died in 1920, the company became Ditte riunite A. Rampone e. B. Cazzani e. C.
The clarinet features 21 keys and seven rings with an extended length down to E-flat. It is special in that it is a one-piece instrument. So the right- and left-hand joints are built together as one piece. The barrel is made of ebonite and unsigned. It is supplied in its original case.
At one time, someone foolishly chose to paint the bell black. It could really use some attention and care, so please take a look at the photos.
