Conical ring-key flute – THIBOUVILLE
This is a stunning, fully-restored conical ring-key flute by THIBOUVILLE. There were many members of the THIBOUVILLE family and despite years of research and over 30 known maker’s stamps (thanks to René Pierre), this is a new one!
The flute is made of grenadilla and has nickel silver keywork. It was entirely restored by a professional woodwind instrument maker and restorer and looks and sounds fabulous.
Take a moment to listen to this flute playing a fantasy on Fra Diavolo [Daniel-François-Esprit AUBER (1782-1871)] written by Emanuele KRAKAMP (1813-1883).
In addition to cleaning, new pads and corks, a crack on the reverse side of the head joint was restored. It is supplied in a custom-made case with two wooden tenon protectors.
It plays at the pitch of a=442 Hz and its sound is bright with great attack… even with the lower notes!
