Boehm system piccolo – LOT, Louis
This Boehm-system piccolo has Louis Lot stamps on both parts.
It is crafted in grenadilla with silver-plated, nickel silver keywork. Louis Lot piccolos tended not to have serial numbers and those which do are often from the last years of the company’s production. This particular piccolo is stamped 154 and it could be that it was made in the 1950s when the Louis Lot company was bought by SML – Strasser-Marigaux Lemaire in 1951.
The piccolo is supplied in a vintage case and is in great shape. The keywork works smoothly and there is very little wear. There are no visible cracks. But of course, it would need an overhaul to be played professionally again.
This Louis Lot piccolo plays at the pitch of a=442 Hz.
