Description
Cavalry trumpet – BEUSCHER, Paul
This French cavalry trumpet or trompette de cavalerie was made by the Paul BEUSCHER workshop. Hyppolyte Beuscher, known as Paul, set up shop in 1850 at 27, boulevard Beaumarchais in Paris. The company still exists at the same address today occupying an area of over 1000m² in the heart of the Bastille district.
This is an E-flat cavalry trumpet. It has a mouthpiece, but the tuning slide is unfortunately stuck. The instrument plays (we tried it!) but has experienced some damage, with dents to the bell. It needs to be restored to be played professionally or stay as it is in a brass collection.
