Description
Metal ocarina No 3 – MATHIEU, Charles
This ocarina was made by Charles MATHIEU in Paris (France) at the end of the nineteenth century. It has eight fingerholes, two thumbholes and a voicing or whistle. It features the names of the notes in relief on each hole.
Charles MATHIEU obtained patent number 212700 on 11 April 1891 in France for his ocarinas. He made six different sizes of ocarina and a seventh with a tuning slide. This is number 3, in Fa – F.
Although the nickel plating shows minor wear in certain areas, the ocarina is in full playing condition.
