Ocarina – CHIESA, Guido
This ocarina was made by Guido CHIESA (1884-1965), who was born and died in Budrio – the birthplace of the ocarina.
He was an apprentice of Cesare VICINELLI (1841-1920) and began making ocarinas on his own in 1920 when his master died. Vicinelli left him his house and all the equipment necessary to continue making ocarinas. It is thought he made up to 20-30 ocarinas per day in the same style of his late master. Chiesa had no children and worked together with his wife until his death.
Crafted in terracotta, it has 8 holes and is in the key of B-flat (si bemolle). This ocarina is in good condition with no cracks or flaws.
