Oboe – Anonymous

Crafted from grenadilla wood with nickel silver keywork, this circa-1900 oboe in C is a well-preserved piece of woodwind history. While it bears no maker’s stamp, its design indicates it was likely built in Germany and influenced by Viennese style. If we look at the photos, we can see that one standout feature is its highly unusual bell shape, which includes an uncommon inner rim that sets it apart from regular oboe bells of the time.

Overall, this instrument is in good, well-preserved condition. The ring for the right-hand index finger is missing; however, this is purely cosmetic and does not impact the playability or function of the instrument. It is sold in its original case.
