Description
Silberton soprano recorder – HOPF
This is a “Silberton” or “Silverton” all-metal soprano recorder. This silver-plated instrument was designed and developed by the Hungarian Gyula FOKY-GRUBER (1927-2014). He left his homeland for Vienna following the Hungarian Uprising in 1956, where he studied and started to make instruments. Two companies, namely AMATI and HOPF, produced these types of instruments.
This Silberton recorder is stamped Hopf. It has a thumb rest and tuning slide with Baroque fingering and double holes for D and C. Its nominal pitch is C and it plays at a=442 Hz.
The instrument has been meticulously cleaned, overhauled and regulated. It is in great condition. Its sound is extremely bright and colourful.
Our opinion
This instrument would be fantastic to play in a band or in a jazz ensemble. It is powerful and speaks very easily.
