Description
Friedrich Kuhlau was a German-Danish composer who was prominent during the Golden Age. He is particularly renowned for his piano compositions, especially “Elverhøj,” created in 1828. Although he was affectionately referred to as the “Beethoven of the Flute”, Kuhlau never played the instrument himself, but composed many works for the flute. Kuhlau faced adversity throughout his life, losing an eye, fleeing to Copenhagen to escape Napoleon’s army, poverty, losing his parents, then nearly all of his life’s work in a fire, to die young of health implications from that same fire.
These three used books, written in German, are bound to fill in all the gaps in the fascinating life of Friedrich Kuhlau.
