Description
Horn – HIRSBRUNNER SUMISWALD
This E-flat horn was made by the company HIRSBRUNNER SUMISWALD in Sumiswald, a village not too far away from Bern in Switzerland. A total of eight generations of the Hirsbrunner family worked across three companies established in the Swiss towns of Sumiswald, Grünen and Aarau. Christian Hirsbrunner (1748–1815) was the first of 18 members of the family who were involved in the businesses.
This particular instrument belonged to the Jonen Music Society and was made in 1966. It is silver-plated with three rotary valves. The horn is operated with the right hand. It is in good condition, although one of the slides need to be loosened. The horn comes with its original mouthpiece and Hirsbrunner Sumiswald case!
