Description

First published in 1759, the title of this work is much, much larger “Nieuwe manier om binnen korten tyd op de dwarsfluit te leeren speelen. Tot gebruik van aanvangers en meer gevorderden opgesteld”. It translates along the lines of a “New way to learn to play the flute in a short time. For use by beginners and more advanced players.” It is a paperback facsimile of the Amsterdam edition by J.J. Hummel from 1760 with an introduction in Dutch by Rien de Reede. Antoine MAHAUT (1719-ca.1785) was a Flemish flutist, composer, and editor.
