Description
Slide trumpet – RANCILIO, Dante
Dante RANCILIO founded his firm in 1901 in Milan, Italy. The company made brass and woodwind instruments and supplied the army and municipal bands. His business really took off after the First World War, selling to the flourishing band market and exporting worldwide. He specialised in saxophones and the reed contrabass (contrabbasso ad ancia). It seems that Dante Rancilio died in 1929 and children and wife carried on the business. However, the instrument-making business didn’t survive the Second World War.
show more This slide trumpet does actually play. However, the bell crook has suffered some blows and is dented. The slide has to be straightened. This instrument is sold as is for restoration and would look really great in any brass collection. With some restoration and care, it could even come right back into action! show less
