Flugelhorn – STARK, Christian August
What a lovely Swiss flugelhorn! Christian August STARK was born in 1838 in Weidigt in Saxony, which is now part of Adorf Vogtland, Germany. He obtained residency in Bern, Switzerland, in 1879 and took over the workshop of Johannes HERTIG (1804-1878). He died in Bern in 1909 and his son Adolf Hermann STARK (1887-1970) took over the business.
Made in 1893, this military flugelhorn in B-flat features three Perinet valves. It comes with a green cord and tassels. The mouthpiece is by Hirsbrunner Aarau.
All the parts are present and working. The straight cylinder pistons move easily up and down in the valve casing. There are some small dents, see photos. Overall, this instrument is in good condition and ready for a new owner and adventure.
