Description
Anonymous ivory piccolo
This attractive, two-part piccolo is constructed in ivory. It has six nickel silver keys, nickel silver rings and a tuning slide. With the features of a German-made piccolo, it was probably constructed in Markneukirchen, in Saxony around 1900. Who made it? Nobody knows.
Its cap is nicely decorated with a little ivory piece that we believe was used to hold it in its old case, which was lost.
In terms of condition, two cracks were previously filled in the head joint and barrel.
Whoever made this instrument, created a lovely item. It has great intonation and plays in nicely in tune at a=440 Hz.
Important note
